Ruiz Lopez & Pavon
A native of South America that was first recorded wild in Britain in 1909. It is similar to the apparently less common Gallant Soldiers (Galinsoga parviflora) but it is usually much more hairy and its pappus scales are fringed with hairs and have a fine terminal projection. There are scattered records from urban areas in West Glamorgan but it is generally uncommon. It is a quintessential street or pavement weed that may become more common as the climate gets warmer.
