Rafin.
A common, perennial willowherb which is usually quite tall, bearing cross-shaped flowers with four, notched, pink petals. It occurs in lots of different habitats but it is most often found in open, weedy places such as waste land, gardens, tracks, open mosaic habitats, urban habitats (e.g. walls and pavements) and disturbed sites in general. It is a native of North America which was first collected in Britain in Leicestershire in 1891. Nevertheless it wasn't recognised as a wild plant in Britain until the 1930s. There may have been multiple introductions as seed during the first half of the 20th Century (and thereafter) which was followed by an extremely rapid range expansion in England and Wales, later in Ireland and more recently in Scotland. According to the BSBI Atlas it is the fastest spreading alien in the Britaish Flora. It is very common in Wales and it is widespread and abundant in West Glamorgan.
