Crataegus laevigata Midland Hawthorn

A tree or large shrub similar to Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) and differing from it in its fruits which have 2 or 3 stones and broader leaves that are not so deeply cut. Although a native species of woods and hedges in the British flora it is not native in West Glamorgan but is occasionally planted and probably overlooked.
