Clinopodium ascendens, Common Calamint, Common Calamint

Brenhinllys

(Jordan) Samp.

A hairy, pale pink-flowered, mint-scented rhizomatous perennial labiate with a rather local, southern distribution. It is a plant of dry, grassy, calcareous soils and sunny hedgerows. It is sometimes grown in gardens and may occur occasionally as a relic of cultivation. It is uncommon in Wales and very scarce in West Glamorgan with few records. Where it does occur it is usually long-lived.

Native (sometimes neophyte)
