L.
A vigorous, mat-forming, plant that is native to Italy and Sicily. It was introduced to Britain as a rock garden plant and was first recorded wild in 1909. The attractive white flowers and the densely pubescent grey-white foliage have made it popular in cultivation. It usually occurs as a garden throw-out or a relic of cultivation in West Glamorgan where it has a scattered distribution. Being a rather long-lived perennial it will persist for a long time when established. It has a scattered distribution in West Glamorgan and is usually found in or close to urban and industrial areas.
