Centaurea montana Perennial Cornflower

A very showy, perennial cornflower with large pseudo-radiate florets which is commonly grown in gardens and becomes naturalised in grassy places. It is occasional in West Glamorgan mostly as a garden throw-out or a relic of cultivation, almost always close to habitation and rarely persists for long.
