Brummitt
Calystegia sepium subsp. roseata is a pink form of Hedge Bindweed, which could be mistaken for Hairy Bindweed (Calystegia pulchra). However the bracteoles of that species overlap strongly at the base of the flowers. The exact origin of this subspecies is not fully understood and it may actually be a hybrid between Calystegia sepium subsp. sepium and Calystegia sepium subsp. americana. It is found in similar habitats to Calystegia sepium subsp. sepium but there have been relatively few, mostly coastal records of it West Glamorgan.
