Bryonia dioica White Bryony

Bloneg y Ddaear

Jacq.

Bryonia dioica, White Bryony, is a perennial climbing plant with pale ivy-shaped leaves which is common in hedges in much of England but is rare in the west and in Wales, where occurrences are almost always introductions. It has been recorded as a casual a few times in West Glamorgan, probably imported with soil, but it does not persist.
