Atriplex patula, Common Orache, is an erect or procumbent annual of disturbed waste places and cultivated ground. Unlike Grass-leaved Orache (Atriplex littoralis), which it resembles superficially, it doesn't have any salt tolerance and it is not found in saline habitats and while its upper leaves are more or less linear, its lower leaves tend to have forwardly directed lobes. The foliage is not particularly mealy. It is a widespread, lowland weed in West Glamorgan.
