Drejer
Atriplex longipes, Long-stalked Orache, is an erect or procumbent annual which occurs in the upper saltmarsh. It has only been known as a British species since 1977 and its distribution is still imperfectly understood. It is difficult to identify and may be confused with Prostrate Orache (Atriplex prostrata), Babington's Orache (Atriplex glabriuscula) and some hybrids that occur in coastal habitats (see description of that species). However its foliage is not particularly mealy and some of its fruits are enclosed by large bracteoles that have long stalks (small bracteoles without stalks may also be present). Most records in West Glamorgan are from Gower but it is probably under-recorded overall.
