Aster x salignus (Symphytrichum x salignum), Common Michaelmas-daisy, is the hybrid between Narrow-leaved Michaelmas-daisy (Aster lanceolatus) and Confused Michaelmas-daisy (Aster novi-belgii) and probably the most common of the Michaelmas-daisy garden escapes in Britain. It is a rhizomatous perennial that can form long-lived, invasive populations when it becomes naturalised. It is very variable in flower colour, from white through to purple and is easily confused with both of its parents. It is probably under-recorded in West Glamorgam.
