Arenaria leptoclados Slender Sandwort

(Rchb.) Guss.

Arenaria leptoclados, Slender Sandwort, is a small, rather inconspicuous annual of well-drained gravelly or sandy soils. It is very similar to Thyme-leaved Sandwort (Arenaria serpyllifolia) and is sometimes considered merely a subspecies of it. It differs in its more slender form and critically in the smaller sepals and the conical, straight-sided fruit capsule. It is probbly under recorded in West Glamorgan.
