Anthemis cotula Stinking Chamomile

Camomil Gwyllt

L.

Anthemis cotula, Stinking Chamomile, is the most common Chamomile in Britain. Like Corn Chamomile (Anthemis arvensis), which it resembles, it is a weed of arable land but it is less restricted to well-drained calcareous soils. It differs also in its stiffly erect stems with leaf segemnts that are not hairy. It has a rather unpleasant smell. It is locally frequent in West Glamorgan and most common in Gower.
