Ajuga reptans Bugle

Bual

Linnaeus

An attractive, stoloniferous perennial that occurs in damp, often shaded grassy habitats such as along hedges, the edges of woodland and forest roadside verges, where it can form dense stands. The zygomorphic flowers are purple or blueish in colour (sometimes white) and are pollinated by bees. It is widespread in West Glamorgan but perhaps most abundant in Gower.
