Aethusa cynapium is a widespread annual weed in Britain associated with cultivated places and waste ground. It is probably native throughout much of its British range but may be an introduction in parts of Wales, particularly in upland areas. It has been recorded widely around the Gower coast, e.g. on the edges of cultivated ground, but it is an uncommon plant outside Gower in West Glamorgan. It is often short in stature and its inflorescences have distinctive, long, deflexed bracts.
Possibly native, but exact status uncertain.
