Leptogium britannicum

Leptogium britannicum is a rare, Atlantic, foliose lichen in Britain and Ireland. When it is wet, it has a dark green-grey appearance but becomes more blue-grey and wrinkled when dry. The thallus is rather thin and translucent and it rarely produces any apothecia. In West Glamorgan it is confined to the south Gower coast where it grows high above the high tide mark on limestone rock.

Listed by Alan Orange in Flora of Glamorgan (Wade et al, 1994).
