Schistochilopsis incisa Jagged Notchwort

(Schrad.) Konstant.

A dioicous leafy liverwort that grows as pale glaucous-green patches with jagged, two-lobed leaves on peaty banks on bogs and on wet moorland. Schistochilopsis (Lophozia) opacifolia is very similar but is not found in Wales. It is a Boreal-montane species with a largely westen and northern distribution in Britain and a rather scattered occurrence throughout upland Wales. In West Glamorgan it is only known from Craig y Llyn and the nearby upland plateaux of Neath Port Talbot where it is uncommon. Sporophytes are rare

This species was formerly known as Lophozia incisa.
