(Taylor) Trevis.
A dioicous leafy liverwort which grows on well lit, base-rich sandstones and igneous rocks on western coasts. It forms quite thick, glossy-green mounds with broad overlapping leaves. It resembles Porella platyphylla and is not always very distinct from it. It is an uncommon Oceanic species with a scattered but very local western distribution in Britain, with just a handfull of records from Wales. It was found new to Glamorgan by BS on Old Red Sandstone rocks on Rhosilli Down. Most British plants are female and sporophyte are unknown here.
