Bruch ex Brid.
A small, epiphytic, autoicous Bristle-moss that forms acrocarpous cushions with upright shoots which bear narrow capsules just above the leaves almost completely covered by a long calyptra. It is found on a variety of trees, particularly elm and willow. It is a Submediterranean-Subatlantic species with a southern and western distribution in Britain. It is fairly widespread in south and west Wales and it is widespread and occasional in West Glamorgan. Sporophyte capsules are commmon in spring and summer.
