(Hedw.) Huebener
A yellowish-green, dioicous, pleurocarpous moss which grows as an epiphyte on trunks and branches of broad-leaved trees, but in some parts of Britain it is more common on rocks and walls. It does not have the undulate leaf structure exhibited by Neckera crispa and Neckera pumila and it differs from them also in the production of thread-like branches with tiny leaves as well as normal shoots. It is widespread in Britain except in parts of middle England and the highlands of Scotland and it is found in most of Wales. In West Glamorgan, most records are from Gower but it also occurs sporadically on trees in the riparian corridor woodlands of the main valleys in Neath Port Talbot. Sporophyte capsules are uncommon.
