Fossombronia incurva Weedy Frillwort

Lindb.

A very small, yellow-green, dioicous frillwort, with crisped leaves and purple rhizoids. It is a weedy species of tracks and paths, but also occurs in wet palces beside streams and in dune slacks. It is thinly distributed in Britain, mostly in the west and it is scattered in Wales with most records from the south. It is rare in West Glamorgan, with just two records from Gower, but it is probably overlooked. Sporophytes are frequent.
