(H.Philib.) Brugués
A small, autoicous, acrocarpous moss of calcareous soils and bare areas among rock, banks and grassland. It is similar to other calcicole Entosthodon species and requires microscopic investigation for safe identification. It is a rare soecies in Britain with few sites and most of them in coastal south and north Wales. However, it is frequent in the limestone along the south Gower coast in West Glamorgan which is one of its British strongholds. Sporophyte capsules are common in spring.
