Drepanocladus lycopodioides Large Hook-moss

(Brid.) Warnst.

A rare and declining dioicous, pleurocarpous moss of calcareous wetlands such as seasonally-flooded dune slacks, pools and fens. It is a relatively large hook moss with long, broad and curved tapering leaves which have a prominent nerve that reaches the tip. It occurs in few isolated sites mostly around the coast of Britain and is very rare in Wales. It occurs in one small population in a seasonally-flooded coastal marsh in West Glamorgan. Sporophyte capsules are very rare.

Note that this species is sometimes listed as Pseudocalliergon lycopodioides.
