(Mitt.) Delogne
A yellowish-green or dark green, dioicous, acrocarpous moss which grows on moist calcareous rock and walls and sometimes on rocks and tree bases on stream banks. It forms loose tufts with long leaves that have wavy margins. A useful identification feature is that the tips break off many of the leaves. It is quite common in southern Britain, including south Wales, but is absent from much of mid and north Wales. It is much more common in areas where there is limestone and in West Glamorgan it is most frequently recorded in the limestone-rich areas of south Gower. It is rather local and more or less restricted to old walls in the South Wales Coalfield of Neath Port Talbot. All populations are female and sporophyte capsules are unknown.
