(Durieu & Mont.) Muell.Frib.
A very small, Oceanic leafy liverwort which is very rare in Britain, occuring only in south and southwest Wales and Cornwall where it grows on thin soils in gaps in steep, coastal limestone grasslands, on calcareous rocks and walls and also on serpentine. Most of its sites in West Glamorgan are along the south Gower coast. It is autoicous and frequently produces perianths which have an untoothed bract tube around their base. The only other Cephaloziella species that is similar in this repect isĀ Cephaloziella integerrima, an even rarer species, whose perianth bract tube is shallowly lobed.
