Cephalozia catenulata Chain Pincerwort

(Huebener) Lindb.

An uncommon dioicous leafy liverwort that grows on decaying logs and stumps in humid, Atlantic woodlands in the west of Britiain, often with other rotting wood specialists like Cephalozia curvifolia and Riccardia palmata. It is very rare in West Glamorgan and only found in the headstream valleys of the Vale of Neath. Sporophytes are occasional.
