Bryum pseudotriquetrum Marsh Bryum

(Hedw.) P.Gaertn., B.Mey. & Scherb.

A chunky, dioicous Bryum which is usually dark green or brownish with red stems densely clothed in brown rhizoids at the base. It is a common species of marshes, fens, dune slacks, wet gravelly places and flushes. It is abundant throughout Britain in these places and is a common species in West Glamorgan. Sporophyte capsules are occasional.
