(Hedw.) Schimp.
A common, slender pleurocarpous moss with tiny leaves which is widespread in moist habitats including soil, the bases of trees, dead wood and rock. Under the microscope, the relatively large, rhomboidal leaf cells are quite distinctive and the nerve runs for about two-thirds of the leaf length. It is an autoecious species and capsules are common. It is common in West Glamorgam.
