Leucojum aestivum subsp. pulchellum is a neophyte alien in the British flora, first recorded in the wild in 1848. It is native in much of mainland Europe where it occurs in damp meadows and other wet places. In West Glamorgan it has only been recorded in Gower where there are a few, long-surviving, naturalised populations, e.g. Caswell car park.
