Linnaeus
A rhizomatous, perennial spurge which is native to much of western Europe but widely naturalised outside its native range. It was first recorded in the wild in Britain in 1796 and has become widely distribured throughout Britain, albeit with a rather scattered distribution in the north and in Wales. It naturalises itself very effectively via rhizome growth and established populations can persist and spread in grasslands, dunes, arable fields and wayside banks. There are surprisingly few records in West Glamorgan.
