Elaeagnus x submacrophylla E. macrophylla x pungens

An evergreen shrub that is planted commonly for amenity, as a hedge or as a screen on industrial estates and in other urban areas. It is quite variable but the leaves often have a mealy covering and are sometimes variegated. It is partially fertile and will set some seed occasionally, but it does not occur naturalised in West Glamorgan.
