Carex flacca Glaucous Sedge

Hesgen Lwydlas y Calch

Schreber

A very common sedge of dry and wet calcareous haitats such as limestone grassland, base-rich marsh and flushes and forest roads dressed with limestone grit.  Unlike Carnation Sedge (Carex panicea) which has leaves glaucous on both surfaces, the mature leaves of Glaucous Sedge taper to a fine point and are only glaucous on their lower side. It is common and widespread in West Glamorgan.
