Agrostis curtisii  is a native perennial grass with a very limited distribution in Britain where it is confined to southern and westerm areas of England and Wales and is absent from Ireland. In West Glamorgan, it occurs mainly in dry heathland in Gower, e.g. Cefn Bryn, Rossili Down and Clyne Common, where it is at its most western location in the British Flora and also near its northern limit. Scattered population also occur in upland areas near Cymmer in Neath Port Talbot, probably connected biogeographically with the extensive populations that occur in the western uplands of the Vale of Glamorgan. It is an Atlantic species with a distinct Oceanic Southern-temperate distribution in Europe. It grows in dense tufts with very fine leaf blades and it is unlikey to be confused with any of the other Agrostis species in the county. Where it grows it is often found in abundance and may form dominant stands.
