Lecidella elaeochroma f. elaeochroma

(Ach. ) M. Choisy

Lecidella elaeochroma is a very common epiphyte although it is quite variable in appearance. It can be found on smooth-barked trees and wooden fences. The granular thallus usually has a black prothallus edge and it often occurs in epiphytic mosaics with other species, e.g. Lecanora chlarotera. It normally bears lots of black apothecia.

Listed by Alan Orange in Flora of Glamorgan (Wade et al, 1994).
