(Hook.) Steph.
A paroicous leafy liverwort which grows on moist, often drippping rock faces, cliffs and on rocky detritus along the edges streams in ravines. Plants have very distinctive, unbordered, circular leaves and a perianth that is winged and beaked, a feature that needs to be confirmed for safe identification. It is a Boreo-arctic montane species which has a western and northern distribution in Britain. It is an upland species in Wales, absent from the far west, with a few records from humid ravines in the upper Vale of Neath in West Glamorgan. Perianths are common.
