Fissidens bryoides var. bryoides

A common, autoicous, Pocket-moss with bordered leaves. It forms patches on non-calcareous banks in hedgerows and woodlands in the lowlands. It can also be found in gardens and arable fiels and on river banks. It is common throughout Britain except for the Scottish Highlands and it is very common in Wales and West Glamorgan. The erect sporophyte capsules are common and abundant.
