Drepanocladus sendtneri Chalk Hook-moss

(Schimp. ex H.Muell.) Warnst.

A rare, dioicous, pleurocarpous moss of seasonally-flooded, calcareous dune slacks. It is a rare and local hook moss in Britain with a mostly coastal distribution, including a few sites in Wales. It is extremely rare in West Glamorgan with just two populations; a small population noted in 2017 in a dune slack on Baglan Dunes (BS), which may have been lost due to succession, with a more robust population found in 2024 by Des Callaghan within artificial slack vegetation at Kenfig Marshalling Yards. Sporophyte capsules are rare in summer.
