Schleich. ex Schwaegr.
A synoicous, acrocarpous moss which forms dense, light green cushions sometimes with abundant capsules. It is similar to Bryum caespiticium and Bryum algovicum. It often occurs in places polluted with metals such as the ground beneath galvanised roofs or under metal barriers along roadsides and also where the ground is contaminated with metals from mining. It is scattered throughout Britain, particularly in Wales, and probably overlooked. It is occasional in West Glamorgan.
