About West Glamorgan Flora

Ivy-leaved Bellflower
Wahlenbergia hederacea (Ivy-leaved Bellflower)

The Flora of West Glamorgan is a freely accessible website authored and edited by Barry Stewart and Charles Hipkin.

The recording area covers the regional borought of Neath Port Talbot and Swansea, which represent the western half of Vice-county 41 (Glamorgan).

Its purpose is to provide a permanent record of the Vascular Plants, Bryophytes (Mosses, Hornworts & Liverworts), Macro-fungi and Lichens that occur in West Glamorgan.

While the website is constantly a work in progress, our aim is to eventually populate it with descriptions and photographs of each species, along with distribution maps representing the records held in the SEWBReC recording system.

If you are interested in finding out more about the flora of the region, please get in touch via our contact page.

Submitting records

We welcome records of flora from local experts and members of the public, and are keen to encourage and promote biological recording in general.  If you have any records that you would like to contribute, here's a quick summary of what information we would require:

The best and easiest way to submit records is to use SEWBReCORD, our online recording website. This allows for saving, viewing and mapping your records, including photos, and verification by local experts where applicable.
