Linnaeus
The hybrid between Tilia platyphyllos and Tilia cordata. It is a large tree with a domed crown, widely planted in parks and along roads and streets all over the county. Except for tiny tufts of hairs in vein joints, the large, heart-shaped leaves are more or less hairless at maturity as are the twigs, unlike those of Tilia platyphyllos with which it is often confused. Like that species the flowers hang down among the leaves.
