Linnaeus
An attractive, short, perennial calcicole that grows in calcareous grasslands and on calcareous cliffs and outcrops. It has a mostly southern distribution in Britain where it is fairly common on the chalk of southern and eastern England but comparatively scarce in Wales and more or less confined there to the limestone of south and north Wales. In West Glamorgan it is virtually restricted to the coastal limestone grasslands, cliffs and sand dunes of Gower. Some records from outside Gower may be errors.
