Santolina chamaecyparissus Lavender-cotton

L.

An evergreen subshrub with white-tomentose foliage and yellow button-like capitula of disk florets. It is a relatively common garden plant of Mediterranean origin which is frequently planted in industrial parks and occasionally persists for years as a relic of cultivation. Good examples occur on open mosaic sites in West Glamorgan such as Baglan Energy Park. It rarely occurs otside urban or industrial park locations.
