Linnaeus
A relatively small, annual spurge which is very common as a weed in gardens, allotments and disturbed, waste ground in general. It is a prolific seed producer with a long flowering season allowing it to colonise disturbed areas rapidly and develop very large populations. It is common throughout Britain, except for higher ground in Scotland and it is the most frequently encountered spurge in West Glamorgan where it is mostly restricted to weedy lowland habitats. It is a constant member of the urban street flora and it can be present in enormous populations in open mosaic habitats such as those on Baglan Eneegy Park (see photo).
