Cynosurus cristatus Crested Dog's-tail

Rhonell y Ci

Linnaeus

A very common, short-lived, perennial grass which occurs in many types of grassland, particularly those with neutral or base-rich soils. It often occurs in grasslands that have had some degree of improvenment in the past but it also occurs in species-rich hay meadows. It is one of the easiest grasses to identify when it is in flower, with its dense, one-sided flowering spikes. It is abundant and ubiquitous in West Galmaorgan.
