Corispermum intermedium Bugseed

Llygwyn Had Garw

Schweigg.

A glabrous annual with narrow, flat, one-veined, sessile leaves, reminiscent of Annual Sea-blite (Suaeda maritima), but not succelent like that species. It is a native of south and central Europe, first recorded in Britain in 1962. It grows in sandy, coastal habitats and is largely restricted to southeast England and Wales. It is very local in West Glamorgan but there is a large population in the open sandy areas on Morfa tip where it has persisted for several years.
