Centaurea cyanus Cornflower

Glas yr Yd

L.

Cornflower is one of a group of colourful  weeds that were once widespread in Britain's cornfields and which qualify as archaeophytes. However, in West Glamorgan it occurs exclusively as a casual introduction from bird seed and wild flower mixtures, or as a garden escape in waste places and other ruderal habitats. It rarely persists long enough to form stable populations.
