Carex vesicaria Bladder-sedge

Hesgen Chwysigennaidd

Linnaeus

A sedge of mesotrophic mires, the edges of slow flowing water courses and marshy grasslands. It has a rather scattered distribution in Britain. It is similar to Bottle Sedge (Carex rostrata) and easily confused with it, but it has a more tapered utricle and a much longer ligule. It appears to be uncommon in West Glamorgan with just a few scattered records.
