Carex pseudocyperus Cyperus Sedge

Hesgen Gynffonnog

L.

A tall, attractive sedge of fens and reed swamp often growing with Common Reed (Phragmites australis). The yellow-green, pendulous female spikes render it almost unmistakable. It has a very local distribution in West Glamorgan where it occurs in Oxwich Marsh, Crymlyn Fen, Baglan, and Morfa Fen. It is moderately shade tolerant and sometimes occurs in wet woodland.
