Carex hirta Hairy Sedge

Hesg Blewog

Linnaeus

A common sedge of roadside verges, meadows, rough grassland and other grassy places. With its conspicuously hairy leaves and sheaths, it is almost unmistakable and can hardly be confused with any other British sedge. It is widely distributed and common in West Glamorgan, often forming quite dense swards in grassy verges.
