Ysgall Crych

Linnaeus

Carduus crispus (Carduus acanthoides), Welted Thistle, is a widespread and frequent thistle in Britain, but it is rare in West Glamorgan where most records have been made in Gower. It is a plant of hedgebanks and grassy places and seems to prefer calcareous soils. It is more frequently encountered in the Vale of Glamorgan.
